From blue to purple

Start of the makeover!!

So! we were pretty bad at at taking photos at the beginning of rebuilding the van. But here we have our van ready to be re-painted. It wasn’t an easy job as we had a time frame that it had to be done in due to some circumstances. Four days and four people and the van was prepped for the paint box. We chose to repaint the van for a number of reasons. One being the fact that we had always talked about having a car in midnight purple as its both our favorite color. Second is that we saw there were dents and parts of rust that we wanted to treat and fix on her, Sabina being a mechanic meant that we (her) could easily fix them and had access to all the tools to be able to do so.

The first step was bye bye blue and hello sandpaper!! We cant admit to how many pieces of sandpaper we used but it was a lot! The sanding its self took us 3 days due to the size of the van and to get a good paint job you have to put the time and effort into it.

All the groundwork put into the van for this paint job was well worth it as the end result was exactly what we wanted.  it wasn’t something we had to do but was something we really wanted to do. So if your short of time and have a limited budget then we don’t recommend it!!

The finished result
